Restaurant #22 Hynes - November 25th 2011

Did you hear about Newman?

I love making that reference, and it always seems so fitting for Hynes, because they have a counter. But we weren't sitting at the counter, we had a booth. This evening was a special occasion, Stephane had defended his Master's that morning with success and is now a Master, and he gets a big CONGRATULATIONS from me. Now back to Hynes. The food was good, classic diner food. I had the hot turkey with home fries, on the grill, with onions, and they were very tasty. I did have a dessert though, and sadly, it wasn't all that good. It had some weird taste to it, maybe crown royal or something, maybe rum extract, just something that didn't seem quite right. I should have stuck with a classic dessert, like Darren's date square, ah well, I'll know for next time.

Restaurant #21 Triiio November 18th 2011

We (Stephan, Stephane, Pierre, Darren and I) went to eat at Triiio. It's the other restaurant that is in the Delta hotel. I like this restaurant, the food is very tasty, the boar meat and potatoes appetizer that comes in a martini glass (there is a pic) is simply divine, BUT... the one thing that I don't like about this place is that they don't have any background music playing. I'm not asking for much, just a little something in the background so that it will cut out most of the noise from the people that were at the other two tables in the dining room as well as cutting out the noise of all the people in the booths.. I do not think that it's asking for much, but since there is hardly more than 2 or 3 tables occupied all the times that we've been, I'd appreciate a little bit of noise to distract me from listening to everyone else's conversations as well as avoiding them listening to mine. I still recommend the restaurant though, as the food is good, a bunch of local foods with interesting pairings. Oh yeah, Stephan had some weird dough thing on his plate, looked like a muffin exploded and tasted a big like a pancake.. interesting.

Restaurant #20 Cafe Archibald Nov 4th 2011

Stephan, Stephane, Erick, Pierre, Darren and I went to Cafe Archibald in Moncton. The food was great, I got the Mediterranean crepe, my favorite, and for dessert, I decided to keep up with eating nuts and such, so I had a skor crepe for dessert. It was delicious!

Restaurant # 19 October 28th 2011 - The Viet Bistro

We went to a brand new restaurant, the Viet Bistro, on Mountain Road. From what we heard it hadn't been open that long. There was Stephan, Stephane, Erick, Darren, Katia, Carine and me. The waitress was extremely helpful, explained everything about the food and stuff. The food was good, we all decided that it wasn`t that spicy, but after Erick talking to some people, we found out that you can ask for extra spices, and hot spices. The only bad thing was that it was freezing cold in the restaurant. We asked them to turn off the cold air, and it was fine for about 20 mins, then it kicked in again..
