Restaurant #97 - Norm's Pizza - July 19th 2013

We were planning on going to Zen Garden, but decided to wait for Amy.  We seemed to recall, perhaps incorrectly, that she wanted to go there.  So, we chose Norm's Pizza.

Stephane, Stephan, and Darren only this week.

We ordered two 12 inch pizzas.  I think one of them had:  sausage, green peppers, and tomatoes.  The other one: pepperoni, bacon and mushrooms.

Both were delicious.  Norms is a pizza place that doesn't hold back on the toppings.

Surprisingly enough, it was Stephane and Stephan's first time eating anything from Norm's Pizza.  They both really enjoyed the pizza.

Again, seven thumbs up.

Only 3 restaurants to go.

Restaurant #96 - Petit Paris - July 12th 2013

Le Petit Paris, Shediac NB.  July 12, 2013.

Stéphan, Pierre, Erick, Mikella and Darren.

Quasi-snotty French restaurant in Shediac NB.  Everyone seemed to like their food.  I had snails, pork, and a piece of  blueberry pie…Mikella had some chicken and crème brûlée…Stéphan had a lobster risotto, coquille St-Jacques and I believe the fig pie for dessert…Pierre, had lamb and blueberry pie, while Erick had some sort of duck pâté, followed by a main course which was also duck, and he finished with the fig pie as well.  At least I think so.

We never did get the bill at our table, so we just went up to the counter to pay.

The « menu », which is a table d’hôte, was 39$.

There was a douchebag with an acoustic guitar that showed-up at one point, drinking wine and singing shitty songs.

Mikella insisted we take pictures at the World’s biggest Lobster.  We also had the opportunity, while at the World’s Biggest Lobster, to take pictures of Stéphan not only beside a 1978 Mini Cooper, but also INSIDE it.

Seven thumbs up.

Restaurant #95 - Dolma Foods Sushi Bar - July 5th 2013

Stephan, Stephane and Erick went to the sushi bar at Dolma Foods. Stephan told me that the sushi presentation was very nice, but that the actual sushi just tasted ok and didn't have much flavour. All three of them each took a different type of sushi and they all found the same thing. The flavour was compared to the sushi that you can buy at Sobeys or Superstore.

Restaurant #94 - Harry's Pizza - June 28th 2013

We went to eat pizza at Harry's Pizza on St. George St. It didn't seem that the place was open that long, but the pizza is made fresh and you get to choose what kind of dough you want. It seems a bit more of a takeout place, but there were a few bistro tables outside and a few tables inside. It was raining when we went, so we had to eat inside.

I quite enjoyed my pizza, the toppings tasted good as did the crust. Overall, everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Restaurant #93 - Top Chicken - June 21st

New restaurant this evening, Top Chicken on Old Shediac Road, near Bistro 33.

Not a lot of advertising for this place, only found a FB page for it. Hopefully it's good. The description seems to say that a chicken restaurant of this quality is normally only found in NYC or LA, so we'll see what they have to offer.

Well, there are three kinds of chicken sauces to choose from, plain, a sweet and sour and a soy flavouring. The chicken was ok. For some reason, I found that the fried chicken skin part of my chicken tasted a little weird, so I just tried to pick it off. Everyone else said that the chicken was ok, but implying that it's an extremely high quality of food is a bit much, I mean, it's fried chicken! They do have menu options that you get to choose different chicken sauces, so you get to try them all out. I think I remember Stephan saying the Soy was good, and I liked the Sweet and Sour, except that it was quite messy, and we only got wet naps after Erick had to go hunt someone down to bring us some.

We had found out that the restaurant hasn't been open that long and used to be a bar/lounge, which gives it an upscale look for a fried chicken place, which was a plus for me. There were booths, nice chairs and stuff, kind of classes up a fast food chicken place. One of the waitresses told us that they were looking at having Karaoke in the future too.
