Restaurant #100 - The Egg Roll King - August 23rd 2013

Today it Stephane's birthday! Yay Stephane! We also decided that it would be a great day to end the challenge, so we didn't go eat the past 2 Fridays as to not have our challenge finish on some other restaurant with not everyone there.

We've finally made it to the end. It's a bit hard to believe, but we're here.

I'll let you know how the last one tastes later on :)

We came, we ate, we took pictures, we left. And the challenge is finally finished.

The food was fine, everyone agreed that the egg rolls were quite good, so it seems like the Egg roll King rightfully deserves it's name.

Reataurant #99 - Zen Garden - August 2nd 2013

For number 99 we went to Zen Garden on Mountain Road.

The place is small, maybe about 6-8 tables and it's all vegetarian food. The ordering system is like at the All-You-Can-Eat Sushi, where you select what you want from a list of items and write how many you would like beside the dish. I like that.

The food was delicious. The only not-so-good thing is that they don't bring out everything all at once, but when it's ready, so not everyone is eating at the same time, and you don't get all your items at the same time. The waitress was also extremely nice, gave us some samples of tea that she made and some raspberries that she had picked that morning in Hillsborough.

Everyone enjoyed what we ordered, though I can't remember the name of most of the items. I ordered a bit too much though, but just because I wanted to try a lot of food to get a good sampling. I didn't feel stuffed at the end, but close to it.

We all had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it for a relaxed-dinner-type thing.

These last few pictures are completely unrelated. They are for Stéphan. Remember when you went on vacation and you weren't going to be able to see your tree flowering? Well, this is what it looked like, except that these pictures were taken about 10 minutes after a torrential rain shower. Sorry about that... and just so you know, it looked way better before the rain shower. :)

Restaurant #98 - McSweeney's Dinner Theatre - July 26th 2013

We're going to Dinner Theatre!

Well, enough time has passed that I'm ready to talk about Dinner Theatre. There are two things that you must take into consideration when going to this Dinner Theatre, plus a preface. The preface is that this is the only dinner theatre I've been to, so I know that this doesn't speak for all of them as I'm sure there are better ones and there are worse ones. Now, the acting is mediocre and the food is too. After you get over these two things, and don't expect too much out of either, it's actually pretty fun. The play was a murder-mystery that happens at the end of a summer camp. I do have to give a shout out to the actresses and actors for staying in character for (most) of the whole evening. I was quite impressed actually, because there is no way I would have stayed as perky as the yoga-tae bo-super lunge girl did. The food was fine, I did like the dessert though, it was a throw-back to the camp theme, smore brownies. We had the choice of chicken, pork or fish for the main. Everyone agreed that it tasted good, but it's not something that I would call exceptional or that I would tell people that they had to go to a dinner theatre because the food is amazing.

Overall, I will admit that I did have a relatively good time. I loved the mash-up that included Salt-n-Peppa, it was the best moment of the whole play for me. I guess that it's just good to go there with low expectations and you won't be too disappointed.
